Job Specification

The Anti-Counterfeit Inspector I is responsible to the Senior Anti-Counterfeit Inspector and will:-

1. ensure proper drafting of charge sheets and filing cases in courts;
2. oversee the safe custody of exhibits;
3. coordinate investigations on complaints from intellectual property rights owners;
4. ensure that witnesses attend court through witness summons;
5. facilitate and conducting prosecution of cases;
6. oversee compiling of court files/cases;
7. supervise conducting of raids on suspected counterfeit goods;
8. coordinate the entering, inspecting, seizing and detaining suspected counterfeit goods;
9. coordinate sampling of goods for testing and analysis;
10. carry out follow ups on cases of complaints by consumers on counterfeit goods;
11. oversee compiling of reports on suspected counterfeit goods;
12. supervise the entering of goods into the inventory and transferring them into the counterfeit goods depot;
13. perform any other duty as may be assigned by the management.

Person Specifications

For Promotion/appointment to the grade of Anti-Counterfeit Inspector I, a person must have:-

1. Bachelor’s degree in Law, Criminology or related disciplines from a recognized institution;
2. at least three (3) years working experience in litigation, criminology or law enforcement;
3. demonstrated managerial, administrative and professional competence in work performance;
4. must be a member of a relevant professional body in good standing; and
5. attended a Supervisory Course.

5. Credit Reference Bureau (CRB)
