The discussions brought together an ACA delegation led by Executive Director Dr. Robi M. King’a, PhD, and the PRSK team to explore areas of mutual interest in strategic communication, professional development and public engagement.

Dr. King’a was accompanied by Mr. Henry Maina Omusundi, Deputy Director, Research and Policy; Ms. Agnes Karingu, Deputy Director, Education and Public Awareness; Ms. Jully Kamollo, Deputy Director, Legal Services; and Ms. Jacklyne Wabuko from Public Communications.

The two organisations explored how effective communication can support greater public understanding of counterfeiting, intellectual property rights and the importance of legitimate trade. They also discussed opportunities to strengthen communication capacity and enhance professional development through PRSK’s curated training programmes.

PRSK shared ongoing initiatives aimed at advancing standards within Kenya’s public relations and communication profession, including the development of its new strategic plan and professional certification programme.

The discussions also came shortly after Dr. King’a was recognised with the 2026 PRSK Shepherd Award during the 24th PRSK Excellence Awards held on 27 August 2026. The award recognises individuals who have made a significant and lasting contribution to the public relations profession.

The engagement provides an opportunity for ACA and PRSK to continue exploring areas of collaboration that can strengthen communication practice, build professional capacity and enhance public awareness on counterfeiting and the protection of intellectual property rights.
