Job Specifications

The Anti-Counterfeit Inspector is responsible to the Senior Anti-Counterfeit Inspector and will: -

Conduct on job training for the inspectors;

1. Receive and act on complaints relating to enforcement of intellectual property rights.
2. Implement the prosecution policies and procedures.
3. Coordinate investigations of complaints from intellectual property rights owners.
4. Ensure that witnesses attend courts through witness summons.
5. Conduct prosecution of cases.
6. Coordinate the compiling of court files/cases.
7. Make test purchases of suspected goods from the market for sampling, testing and analyzing.
8. Conduct raids on suspected counterfeit goods.
9. Initiate action on suspected counterfeit goods.
10. Supervise the entering, inspecting, seizing, detaining suspected counterfeit goods.
11. Compile reports on suspected counterfeit goods.
12. Maintain prosecutions registers and files.
13. Perform any other duty as may be assigned.

Person Specifications

For appointment to this position, the person must have: -

1. Bachelor’s degree in Criminology, Social Science, Business Administration or its equivalent from a recognized institution
2. Proficiency in computer applications; and
3. Fulfil the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution.
