Starting Basic Salary: - Kshs 24,775

Job Specification

The Driver II is responsible to the Senior Administration Officer for:-

  1. Carrying out minor mechanical repairs;
  2. Recognizing and reporting malfunctioning of the vehicles;
  3. Ensuring security of the vehicles on and off the road; 
  4. Ensuring safety of passengers and/or goods in the vehicle; 
  5. Maintaining cleanliness of the vehicle assigned to him; and 
  6. Ensuring possession of all the requisite documents and tools for any specific journey.

Person Specifications

For appointment to the grade of Driver II, a person must have:-

  1. Served in the grade of Driver Grade III for at least three (3) years;
  2. The Occupational Trade Test II Certificate for Drivers;
  3. A valid driving licence free from any current endorsements(s) for classes of the vehicles the driver is required to drive;
  4. Must be of good conduct, smart, courteous and respectful;
  5. Demonstrated professional competence in driving the class of the vehicle he/she is licensed to drive;
  6. A defensive Driving Certificate from the Automobile Association of Kenya (AA) or its equivalent qualification from any other recognized institution;
  7. A Certificate of Good Conduct (renewable after two (2) years);
  8. A First Aid Certificate course lasting not less than one (1) week from St. Johns Ambulance or any other recognized institution; and
  9. A refresher course for drivers lasting not less than one (1) week every three (3) years

  1. National Identity Card
  2. Academic: Professional Certificates and testimonials
  3. Any other relevant supporting documents.

During the interview, shortlisted candidates will be expected to provide the following clearance certificates from:

  1. Higher Education Loans Board (HELB),
  2. Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA),
  3. Criminal Investigation Department (CID), 
  4. Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC); and 
  5. Credit Reference Bureau (CRB)
